Speech Therapy for Children

I’m a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with a background in Linguistics and Psychology, which fuels my passion for understanding how people communicate, learn, and connect. I work closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to provide individualized therapy that supports speech, language, and social communication development.

I have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and supporting children with diverse neurological and physical needs. I am committed to creating a positive, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable and motivated. My goal is to help each individual build confidence while developing the communication skills needed for everyday success. I aspire to become a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and continue expanding my knowledge and clinical skills to better serve individuals and families.

Speech Therapy for Children

My name is Miriam Alexander, and I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from India. I began my career in India working at a hospital, and after relocating to Canada in 2015, I transitioned to working within a school district. I have experience supporting children from Kindergarten through Grade 7, providing direct therapy and conducting assessments for students with a range of speech and language challenges.

I am passionate about working with children, which is why I chose this profession. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with children with developmental language delays, speech sound disorders, stuttering, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and hearing impairments.

Speech Therapy for Children

I’m a Speech Pathology Assistant who loves working with children and helping them build confidence in their communication skills. I believe therapy should feel fun, safe, and encouraging, and enjoys using play-based activities to support speech and language development.

I work under the guidance of Speech-Language Pathologists to help implement therapy goals and create positive therapy experiences for children and their families. I’m currently completing coursework with the goal of pursuing Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology at UBC.
